DE	Ziele des Labors für Teilchenphysik:

Das Labor für Teilchenphysik betreibt Grundlagenforschung zu aktuellsten Fragestellungen der modernen Physik.

Die Ergebnisse unserer Forschung ermöglichen ein besseres Verständnis der Grundbausteine der Materie und der Kräfte, die zwischen ihnen wirken. Gemeinsam mit Forschenden aus der Schweiz und dem Ausland nutzen wir die weltweit intensivsten Quellen für niederenergetische Pionen, Myonen und in naher Zukunft auch für ultrakalte Neutronen am PSI.

Unser spezielles Know-how im Detektorbau, in der Elektronik und im Chipdesign setzen wir für Experimente am PSI ein, beim CMS-Experiment am CERN, sowie in vielen Anwendungen und Spin-offs der Teilchenphysik am PSI und weltweit.

The Laboratory of Particle Physics pursues fundamental research, addressing the most up to date questions in modern physics.

The results of our research enable a better understanding of the fundamental building-blocks of nature as well as the forces acting on them. In collaboration with researchers from both Switzerland and abroad we utilize the World's most intense sources of low-energy pions and muons at PSI and in the near future also of ultra-cold neutrons.

Our specialized knowledge of detector design and construction, electronics and chip design is widely applied both in our experiments at PSI and in the CMS experiment at CERN, as well as in other applications and spin-offs from the field of particle physics at PSI and world-wide.
